Global Discovery Vacations Review: Idaho’s Winter Wonderland

When the snow paints the town white, it can set the perfect scene for any winter vacation. Yellowstone is a great place to visit any time of year, but Global Discovery Vacations member Sydney S.’s most recent trip to the Timbers Condominiums at Island Park Village, Idaho, gave her plenty of memories on which to look back. She tells us why it was a winter wonderland in this week’s Member Monday.
Global Discovery Vacations Review: Idaho’s Winter Wonderland

Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
We loved that the condo had a kitchen available for us to cook in! It was nice having the homey feeling of a kitchen but also having the opportunity to go out to eat, whichever we chose. We decided to go to Gusher Pizza & Sandwich Shoppe and the food was good. We enjoyed that it wasn’t a huge restaurant and that it was unique to West Yellowstone.

Unfortunately, we went in the winter right after a huge snowstorm, so a lot of the stores were closed. Although, the shops we did drive by looked adorable.

Have fun/attractions
Snowmobiling is the big thing to do in the winter around Island Park. There are a lot of places to rent them and trails all over to use them. The scenery is gorgeous as well, so just driving around was pleasant.

What was your favorite…
Resort/Condo Amenity:

We loved the kitchen and how it came with everything we needed to prepare meals. We also loved that it had Wi-Fi for us to search and find places to visit.

The woman who worked at the front desk was awesome! She was very kind and let us know she was available if we had any questions, as well as telling us about some local restaurants and whatnot!

Place to go in the destination:
Obviously West Yellowstone. Everywhere was so calm and serene.

Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
We chose this destination because we wanted to go somewhere within driving distance from home. It wasn’t a special occasion or anything, we just wanted to do something before the year was over!

What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
My favorite memory on the vacation was driving to West Yellowstone and feeling like we were in a winter wonderland. All the trees covered in snow with clear, blue skies. It was beautiful.

Any tips for a traveler going to this resort or destination? Anything you think they should bring?
Make sure you bring proper attire for whatever season you visit! We were layering up anytime we went outside, so just plan ahead!
