Global Discovery Vacations Review: One Week in the Big Easy

New Orleans is a town like no other, with a special blend of character and history to attract travelers of any taste. Wanting to cross this city off of his travel wish list, Global Discovery Vacations member Rick A. and his wife spent a week at The Wyndham La Belle Maison in the Big Easy and soaked up the culture. He tells us about it in this week’s Member Monday.
Global Discovery Vacations Review: One Week in the Big Easy

Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
Eat:
My wife loves to dine at famous restaurants. Antoine’s in the French Quarter is one of the most famous and we highly recommend it. We were even treated to a guided tour after our dinner. Also while in New Orleans, Café Du Monde is a must visit for beignets and coffee.

Shop:
Of course while in the Big Easy we had to get Mardi Gras masks and found a nice little shop where the owner makes them by hand.

What was your favorite…
Resort/Condo Amenity:
The Wyndham La Belle Maison was exceptional, nicely decorated and comfortable. It was within walking distance to everything we wanted to see in the French Quarter. It was just a quick drive to the Garden District and within an hour’s drive from the plantations we visited.

Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
We choose New Orleans because both of us love to explore new places and cities. New Orleans was one of those places we had always wanted to go and we were able to do so with Global at a reasonable cost.

What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
My wife and I had a great time and enjoyed exploring New Orleans. Our favorite memory was visiting the plantations and learning the history of the area.

About you

How long have you been a Global Discovery Vacations member?
We’ve been members for several years and have traveled using our membership at least five times. My son has used it as well.

Why did you join the club?
We joined the club years ago because we thought it made sense and we saw the value in having a plan like this.

Why do you think traveling is important?
We think traveling is important for us because it gets us away from our everyday routine, where we can relax and spend time exploring together.
