Hit the Road with Our Member’s Music Choices

We’ve shared our travel playlist choices, now let’s see what you picked!

Tomorrow is the last day to enter for a chance to win a pair of snazzy Global Connections headphones, but we’ve already received some great entries with a wide array of backstories! Here are some of our faves, which were all over the map (figuratively and literally):

Hit the Road with Our Member’s Music Choices

“We like to travel with classic rock but when we get into the singing mood, our go-to is Jimmy Buffett!”
– Debbie S.

“While hiking to the lava flow on the Big Island during our vacation last week, I kept singing ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’ by The Proclaimers. It seemed fitting, even though it was only eight miles round trip. Felt like 500.”
– Stefanie L.

Lenny Kravitz – ‘Fly Away.’ It’s a great song when you are dreaming about traveling with GDV!”
– Tracy N.

“Since I don’t want my expensive CDs stolen, I burn them as MP3 discs. One disc holds about five hours. We always have Don WilliamsThe Beach BoysAlan Jackson and lots of old fashioned gospel songs. Plus one disc of mixed oldies rock and classic country. We always have a CD or XM radio on. Always!”
– Ruby L.

‘When I’m Gone’ by Anna Kendrick. This is the ‘Cups Song’ from the movie Pitch Perfect. The lyrics sum it up perfectly:
‘I’ve got my ticket for the long way ’round
The one with the prettiest of views.

It’s got mountains, it’s got rivers,
It’s got sights that make you shiver
But it sure would be prettier with you
– Rene H.

‘Kokomo’ by The Beach Boys, because there is always somewhere I want to go.”
– Jaime S.

Zac Brown Band songs make me want to head to the beach with Global Discovery Vacations:
‘Wishin’ I was knee deep in the water somewhere
Got the blue sky, breeze blowing wind through my hair, only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair.
Mind on a permanent vacation,
The ocean is my only medication
Wishing my condition ain’t ever gonna go away.’
I only travel to places with water. Heading to Cape Cod in October with GDV.
– Laura K.

‘Crazy Train’ by Ozzy Osbourne: ‘Going off the rails on a crazy train!’ Crazy great deals train that is! Special Buys and Expressways and those are just side perks to the actual vacations I own. Now, that’s crazy! As the song says: ‘Crazy, I just cannot bear/I’m living with something that just isn’t fair.’ Yeah, no kidding. It’s almost not fair that I can vacation so economically at awesome condos all over the world! Now that rocks!”
– Randy K.

‘Life is a Highway’ by Rascal Flatts. This song is from my second favorite movie ever and reminds me of our family road trips with all four kids in the minivan driving down the highway. Great way to make the time go a little faster!”
– Blair H.

“With our big family, we drive to most of Global Discovery Vacations destinations. Some of our favorites are ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling,’ ‘Shake It Off,’ ‘Lost Boy,’ ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun.’ They gear us up for all the fun!”
– Dean R.

“On a recent three-day road trip, I had Alice CooperKissRob Zombie and The Doors playing to navigate the two lanes of trucks, other cars and beautiful scenery from Michigan to Texas.”
– Larry C.

‘This Land Is Your Land’ is a favorite song to accompany any travel in the USA. The tune seems to fit all the unique cultures of our nation, and the lyrics stress that our beautiful country – from coast-to-coast and northern border-to-southern border – ‘Was made for you and me.'”
– Jerry S.

‘I Am Blessed’ by Mr. Vegas. I have been playing that song for years when I travel because I am so grateful for the opportunities I have created for myself. Making a living, living life for me.”
– Nicole N.

“Every time I hear ‘Me and Bobby McGee’, it starts my mind running into where should we go next. We just love our vacations with Global. It gives us freedom to roam many places! Happy trails!”
– Bettie Jo H.
