Project Walk-Kansas City Holding Charity Auction for Spinal Injury Recovery

Imagine your life being forever changed after an accident. Things like going to the store, taking a shower or going out with friends becomes a major hurdle once you have been confined to a wheelchair.
Project Walk-Kansas City Holding Charity Auction for Spinal Injury Recovery

Doctors are often forced to tell patients who have suffered a spinal cord injury they will live the rest of their days in a wheelchair. Fortunately, this is not always the case. The folks at Project Walk - Kansas City are giving hope to those who have heard the devastating news.

Project Walk – Kansas City works with those who have suffered a spinal cord injury and are committed to recovery. Therapists work with clients throughout the process that includes varying levels of recovery. Unfortunately, the therapy is not covered by insurance. That means people who have already endured so much will have to have the means to pay for the service that could mean the difference between taking back their lives and simply learning to cope with their diagnosis.

Project Walk-Kansas City regularly holds fundraisers in order to offer scholarships for those who will benefit from the services, but don’t have the means to pay. The group wants to help as many people as possible, but they are limited by the funds available. Through the generosity of people like you and me, the charity is able to help folks who just want a shot at recovery. One of the biggest events of the year is coming up soon. A charity auction will be held at The Roasterie on March 24 of this year. It is an excellent time to support a charity that does so much good for those who are facing a life changed forever. Tickets are just $75.00 a piece.

You will get the chance to enjoy some great food and drinks while bidding on a variety of prizes that have been donated by generous businesses and private donors. It’s a great way to hang out with friends in a casual environment while doing something great. Spinal cord injuries can happen in a heartbeat and they don’t discriminate between the young and old, weak or strong. Climbing a ladder to clean out the gutters, riding in a car or falling downhill while hiking are all normal activities that we love to do. We never think we could end up being confined to a wheelchair while doing something so normal. Accidents happen.

The list of items up for auction is shaping up to be pretty enticing. Whether you are a sports fan who loves memorabilia or a wine aficionado, you will find something you will love. The money raised from the auction will help fund those sessions that are so necessary to recovery after a devastating accident. Not everybody can make it to the dinner and that is completely understandable. You can still help Project Walk- Kansas City by sending in cash donations. If you have something you would like to donate for the auction that is always an option as well.

The bulk of the funds raised for Project Walk – Kansas City come from three annual fundraisers including the auction. In June, a golf tournament is held and in September, a Wiffle ball tournament is held to help fund the program.
