Resort Guide and Vacation Offer Photos: Are These the Actual Pictures of My Condo Unit?

Pictures are worth a thousand words, especially in vacation planning. That’s why we ask for photos of the units used in the Global Discovery Vacations travel club. Our goal is provide you the best information we can so you can choose the perfect place to spend your weeklong vacation. With condos, what you see online isn’t always exactly what you get.  Why? More often than not, we are leasing multiple units in a property and we can’t store or track all of the different pictures. Let us explain.
Resort Guide and Vacation Offer Photos: Are These the Actual Pictures of My Condo Unit?

Why aren’t condominiums exactly the same?

Condo Ownership
Often, a vacation rental is owned by a person, much like you. They have distinctive styles and preferences they bring to their individual unit. You’ll find different color schemes, appliance and electronic equipment brands, dishes and silverware. All of the things provided in the unit were put there by an individual owner.

Development Packages
When a large resort is developed, they often provide a selection of layouts and decorating packages to choose from. It is not uncommon to find three or four distinctly different interior designer-styles in one property, with different color palettes and furnishings.

Why can’t all the vacation rental pictures be posted?

The volume of units we process makes it difficult to store and manage the online photographs for every single unit. Some resorts we use don’t assign the actual unit number until the week of travel. And still others we find from our resort partners; because we don’t use the property regularly it is not stored in our resort database.

How do I know what the condominium looks like?

We have developed a Resort Guide to provide you the important information you need to know about the property and the unit. The photographs posted of the condominium are provided by the unit’s owner or developer. Our Property Management team selects the photos that provide the best overall feeling for a condominium and posts those to the Resort Guide listing.

If your Condominium Consultant has secured a unit from one of our travel industry partners, there is a chance that property will not be in our database. In this case, you’ll receive an offer with photos or a website to show you a representation of the condominium found for your use.

When you receive your vacation offer from your travel consultant, you’ll see this statement:

“Please note that photos on the website may or may not be of your unit, the actual layout/facilities/bedding and amenities may vary from that shown.”

To make sure this information is more prominent, we’re adding this information to the Resort Guide itself. When you receive a Global Discovery Vacations condo offer by email, be sure to read it entirely, as well as the Special Conditions before accepting a vacation condo.
