Spring Break deals are once upon us this time of year.  There are many great places to go, such as Cancun, Mexico and South Florida.  In fact, there are deals being advertised currently about spending four or five days in Cancun for five hundred dollars or less.

The beaches in Mexico, at Cancun are some of the most luxurious and easy access beaches.  There are so many places to stay and new foods to try and adventures to be had out on The Caribbean.  Lots of great shopping in Mexico, make sure you bring back some authentic vanilla extract, some wonderfully tasty cigars, and a list of other items such as spices, cheaper clothing such as beach ware, bathing suits and cover ups and of course, flip-flops.  The prices for alcohol down in Mexico are quite better than prices in the United States and flights and hotel deals are so easy to book and very inexpensive.

If you stay in Cancun try to take a trip to the Yucatan peninsula and see one of the great wonders of the world, Chichen Itza is a marvelous tour in history and only a two hour bus ride from the resorts of Cancun, a lot of learning is to be had at this world famous and wondrous paradise of pyramids in Mexico.

You will learn of its origin and building. How it basically follows the equinox patterns of seasons and time.  It was built in the 6th century and its Mayan ruins have survived to this day.  It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Mexico with roughly 1.2 million visitors per year coming to see the beautiful ruins that still exist and attract visitors from all over the world.

The most famous structure is the temple of Kukulkan also known as El Castillo it is largely tied to the theories of Astronomy still in existence today.  The temple has four sides with 91 steps on each of its sides.  There is a top platform making that the 365th step, El Castillo has a total of 365 steps one for every day of the year.

Twice a year on the fall and Spring Equinox, a shadow falls on the pyramid in the shape of a serpent.  The Mayans were so advanced astronomically they could even predict solar eclipses through the use of those temples on the site.  It is in a tropical climate where its average daily temperature is 93 degrees Fahrenheit.

These were the same Mayans that developed a theory that the world was going to end last year on December 21, 2012.  The ruins still offer a great sense of historical tradition and absolute amazement in how these theories came to be back in the sixth century without the use of anything more advanced than the stars in the skies of that time period.

On a side note if you are traveling with your college girl friends to Mexico or any destination for Spring Break please pay attention to your behavior and act accordingly.  Stay with your friends at all times and check in frequently.  Do not give out your hotel information to anyone you do not know, or go for a walk, ride or private chat with anyone you do not know.  Take your cellphone conversations in private places and do not text in public where others may snap photos of you and your information.  Be careful with what personal information you put up on Facebook, anyone can find you through your photos and Facebook information so do not pose with a group of girls in front of any structure that would identify yourself as a visitor of such a hotel.  Keep your vacation behavior private and be extra careful out there.  Photos are seemingly innocent, but they display a lot of details that you simply do not want to be put out there in public, you would be amazed at how much information Facebook and personal photos give away to complete strangers in this day and age.  Please, take precautions to not become another victim this year.
